This is a Happy Birthday message to my Aunt Margie. She is just a bit over 30 something today or at least she looks like she is. Aunt Margie is an inspiration for how to be a mom… She never yells (well unless a child puts food in an ear – or was it a nose?), she finds time for exercise by taking morning walks to each of her friend’s homes in her neighborhood, and she makes laundry fun by enticing college students to fold in exchange for food.
I am blessed to have a great big family of people who have taught me how to do my job. Most likely these things were learned when the teachers didn’t even know they were teaching — either way I bet any of my aunts or uncles could sit at my kitchen table for awhile and find they ways they have influenced me — however, today I will celebrate the joy of laundry, the pleasure of good gossip (I mean exercise), and the fear in serving small foods by thinking of my Aunt Margie — Happy Birthday to you and much love – thank you for all the fun!
