Saturday we took Grace to her first Brewer game. We went with a group of friends that also had little kids, so we were over prepared with giant bags of peanuts, cookies, juice boxes, and Swedish fish candy.
Anna Mae showed Grace how to put her hand on her heart for the National Anthem, Truman had her dancing on her chair trying to make it onto the Jumbotron, and Cole offered to take our photo with Grace after the game.
Our baby girl loved everything about the day especially the “hot dogs that ran right out!” I think she wanted them to stay around after the race as they were more entertaining than “those guys throwing the ball.” That is until Cory Hart broke his bat or we spotted a foul ball headed our way – then she was quick to pay attention to the game.
Of course the best part was the end. Just about the time the fair weather fans were heading out and Cole was placing a bet on the Brewers failure – Tigers reliever Robbie Weinhardt dropped a flip at first base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, allowing the tie and winning runs. The Brewers pulled out a 13-12 win – making it a perfect first game memory.
