Well you knew it was coming and while I have taken my own sweet time getting to this point I have made a decision… It’s time to lose the baby weight. At this point she weighs between 12 and 15 pounds and I have at least that to lose. I HATE diets and really try hard to eat healthy. My pantry is filled with lots of really good food and even when I buy treats, typically I buy good treats – With that effort in full force I have been slowly losing weight, however, as swim suit / dress-up season fast approaches I have GOT to get serious.
So I am going with a low GI approach and I am going to be strict from morning to dinner. I am going to try to keep eating dinner by design meals for dinner and just try to keep to low GI carbs when I can. Should the weather in WI ever improve I am also going to up the exercise, so that will help as well. And I may have to have just a little low GI treat in the evening with Tim… Does low carb icecream taste good? Hmmmm….well have to see about that…
The problems I anticipate are that there are always special occasions. I can’t be swayed into indulging everytime the opportunity comes or I will never get anywhere. Also, I tend to get a wee bit cranky when I diet… thus the public announcement … everyone has been warned and trust me I’ll be much more crabby if I don’t lose some inches. Finally, good food is expensive and I have been trying so hard to stick to a strict budget lately. So, I’ll have to really put some effort into shop ahead and plan what I am doing so I don’t over spend or end-up making poor decisions.
Alright, so here we go… I’m going to get right on it… just as soon as I get back from mom’s night out where I always have dessert… Well, it’s a long process to get motivated for something like this, but wish me luck, cuz I’m really gonna do it…
So…are we meeting at mom and dad’s to go for hikes in the park on the weekends? Tim can do his “triatholon” after we get our walks in.
