Karen, my little sister set up a 101 list and is on her way to accomplish a few of her things. Pretty impressive goals, but also lots of fun things. I had a good time reading it, because I noticed a few things that were inspired by me – she would never tell me I had good ideas, but now I can bask in the glory of a published list!
Tim and I have done something like this since we got married. We typically write it on New Year Eve but, are careful not to call them resolutions. It’s pretty exciting when we actually go back and read discovering that we did a pretty remarkable job and can check most things off our list. However, the “four kids thing” is proving to be a bit of a challenge in and of it’s self this year –
For lent our priest has been stressing not giving things up, but instead taking on new habits and goals that really are personal improvements. I decided that I would generally work on getting back into the swing of my life. However, the exercise plan lasted two weeks – it was really hard! It’s more difficult to keep up with the house like I would like – how long can I go without washing the kitchen floor? Hopefully, spring cleaning will help. Taking care of myself? Forget about it – I am happy to have gotten a shower today and my hair trimmed recently –
So I am inspired to make a 101 list of my own – perhaps I can put things on it like – “potty train Truman” and “buy toilet paper before we are totally out” – oh and how about, “maintain a zero balance at the library for more than 2 weeks in a row.” Or am I aiming too high?
