I have a question… And I really want to hear from my vast readership on this…
Have you ever read a book and watched a movie based on the book where the movie was better than the book? My book club is going to watch Memoirs of a Geisha at the end of this month and I started thinking about how much I am looking forward to seeing this story brought to life. However, I have to admit that I will most likely be disappointed, because I hardly ever like the movie as much as I like the book.
In fact, I can only think of one example of where I loved the movie as much or even more than the book. I’m not going to tell it right away – I want to see if anyone else agrees, but to prove the one I am thinking of I will say that I have a cousin with the same name as the lead character.
Alright, who can think of a movie that was as good or better than the book?
What was the biggest disappointment? For me I think it was Grisham’s “The Firm” – what a let down that was.
Send me a comment – if you have trouble send it via e-mail and I’ll post it – ttcdixon@yahoo.com

I usually like the book over the movie, but I do have to say I really reallly enjoyed the movie The Notebook just as much as the book.
Wait till you read the one I just finished today. I know you are doing it for book club. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. It was really good. Will get those other books to Betty or Bev next week. Should I save the book till the weekend?
